The historic park was constructed during the rule of Emperor Kangxi and is located approximately 2 kilometers to the southwest of the city center. It overlooks the stunning Western Hills and the tranquil waters of the Dianchi Lake.

Daguan park is known for its lush vegetation and serene atmosphere, with an array of vibrant flowers and towering trees that provide a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Visitors can stroll through the picturesque balconies and pavilions or cross the bridges over the tranquil waters, adding to the park’s unique character.
One of the park’s most notable attractions is the magnificent three-story Daguan Pavilion, which sits beside the water’s edge and boasts breathtaking views. The pavilion is adorned with beautifully inscribed boards and couplets, including a 180-character couplet written by Sun Ran, a poet from the Qing Dynasty. This couplet is considered by many to be “the best long couplet from the ancient times.” The upper line describes the breathtaking view of the lake while the lower line narrates the rich history, captivating landscapes, and emotional depth of Yunnan.
Additionally, the park is home to a Luna Park, which provides a fun and exciting experience for visitors of all ages. With its combination of natural beauty and recreational activities, the park is a must-visit destination for anyone visiting the area.
