Spending the Chinese New Year holidays in Sanya isn’t the best idea

Chinese New Year, Chunjie, is approaching fast and hundred of millions of people are moving in China. Many people just try to go home, while others buy tickets to go to the most trendy destination.

January 29th, News.163.com published a photo gallery of a crowded Sanya beach during the holidays. Sanya is the most popular and expensive tropical destination in China and it has been called the Hawaii of China. Doesn’t seem very fun though.

If you think this is somehow bad, the situation in Huiquan beach, Qingdao, is much worst (picture taken on 2009):
