A twenty-two years old Chinese student in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, from middle of January 2013 has become famous in the city.

But what did Wang Yue, to be so popular and how she gained popularity in the Chinese web and eventually to be interviewed by CCTV? The young student of Dalian University of Technology School of Art and Design,  decided to paint the anonymous and grey trees on the streets of Shijiazhuang. She painted their cavities with colorful and vibrant images of animals and nature.

These paintings in a so unusual place have quickly attracted the attention of many passers-by who increasingly stopped watching the paintings on the cavity of the logs. Wang Yue, after returning to her hometown, to spend the Chinese New Year with her family, when she saw on the streets the bare winter trees, suddenly had this inspiration: cover with painting tree cavities. After a month she has quickly become popular, in fact many have appreciated her urban decoration and creative landscape that has developed on the streets of Shijiazhuang.

To achieve these paintings she can spent 6 hours starting from 11:00 and ending at 17:00. The index of air pollution in the city is very high, in winter the predominant color is the gray of the mist; Wang Yue hopes her paintings can add a touch of color to the city. Shijiazhuang municipality is considering to promote tourism with an advertisement campaign based on the decorated trees. For now there are eleven trees painted by Wng Yue, who confirmed that she could continue in her spare time to paint the cavities of trees.
