A survey carried out by market research company WIN/Gallup International, which questioned 63,898 people – around 1,000 in each country, has revealed that China is the least religious country in the world.
In a global ranking of 65 countries, China came first place from last with only 6% of the population calling themselves religious while 61% say they are convinced atheists. China was followed by Japan 13% , Sweden with 19% , Czech Republic with 23%, the Netherlands and Hong Kong with 26% and UK, 33%. At the top of the chart Thailand 94%, Armenia 93%, Bangladesh, Georgia and Morocco.
