Jin Yan (1910-1983), well known by his English name Raymond King, was a Korean-born Chinese actor who rose to prominence in Shanghai during China’s golden era of cinema. In the 1930s, his acting abilities and attractive features helped him become quite popular. He was called the “Film Emperor” and the “Rudolph Valentino of Shanghai” by the press.
