Vestiges of Mengzi Customhouse

Last Updated on 2020/10/31

The earliest official customhouse established in Yunnan, Mengzi Customhouse (蒙自海关旧址) is located by the Nanhu Lake of Mengzi County, Honghe Prefecture.

Survived buildings of the Customhouse were constructed after the customhouse was opened in the Guangxu Years of the Qing Dynasty, and the building cluster includes the Office of the Taxation Department of Mengzi Customhouse, the French Consulate, gardens, and the Geluz Firm, all of which show French architectural styles. The building cluster has been registered as a key site of historical relics for national-level protection.
