Yuanmou Man site

In 1965, two ape person’s teeth fossils were discovered here.

By the means of the measurement, they are known as the earliest in China and East Asia’s teeth fossils which are apart from now about 1,700,000 years.

元谋人遗址 Yuanmou Man Remains, Chuxiong, Yunnan

It is located in Shangnabang Village of Yuanmou County. Here the climate is dry and hot, it is a famous hot basin. The discoveries of Yuanmou Men have proved Yunnan Plateau to be one of the regions that mankind practiced activities in the early days. And Yuanmou is the birthplace of oriental humankind.
