Local Public Security Bureau arrested two criminal suspects and seized 386,69 kg of methamphetamine. Methamphetamine is a strong central nervous system stimulant that is mainly used as a recreational drug. China has engaged a fight against drug traffickers who come from neighboring Myanmar and Laos, the Golden Triangle. Anti-drug operations increased in 2011, after the death of 13 Chinese sailors in Mekong river.
Despite some success, drugs continue to flow across the border of Yunnan.
