Cozy containers for Chinese workers

Cozy containers

Chengmai factory in Hainan island converted and adapted in a loft style some abandoned waste containers, so those become a welcoming environment for 40 employees.

Containers were arranged in such a way as to form a “small building” that features a courtyard with a water tank for the small community. The front door  entrance has been designed so as to give to the “building” a cozy look. The company has found this solution using waste recycling and conversion of 10 abandoned containers, which were studied in order to provide 34 spaces for 40 employees. The intelligent use of space technologies has created a fan circuit inside the containers. Building has two floors: each floor is equipped with a corridor and a balcony, where workers can lay their clothes out to dry. There is a recreation room and the workers can have an internet connection.
