Two US Immigration Officers apprehend Cheung, an illegal immigrant in a mostly Chinese suburb of New York. He arranges for his young friend’s Chinese-American sister, Cindy Li, to marry him in order to aid his application for a green card. When they don’t locate them living together, the Immigration Officers suspect the marriage is a ruse. Meanwhile, Dai Fu has threatened Cheung and his roommate, who is also an illegal immigrant, if they do not pay the smuggling fees.
