Hong Kong Art Event by Chinese artist Badiucao has been cancelled after threats by China

News website Hong Kong Free Press announced that the art exhibition ‘Gongle’ by Chinese artist Badiucao has been canceled out of safety concerns.

“The decision follows threats made by the Chinese authorities relating to the artist. Whilst the organizers’ value freedom of expression, the safety of our partners remains a major concern.”

The organizers regret having to make this decision and hope there will be a chance for the public to see Badiucao’s work in the future.

Badiucao is a Chinese political cartoonist, artist, and rights activist.

Pussy Riot, Joshua Wong & Sampson Wong had to appear at first int’l exhibition of Chinese artist Badiucao.
