Today Otis China opened its new escalator factory, which meets Industry 4.0 standards.
The manufacturing facility incorporates intelligent manufacturing and advanced automation to produce high-performance escalators and moving walkways.
Relocated from South China to East China near Shanghai, the new manufacturing base follows Otis’ global quality standards and the latest digital technologies such as 3D modelling, custom engineering and real-time quality management that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Local officials and company executives hosted an inaugural ceremony to commemorate the new factory.
“Escalator is one of our core products and our escalator factory in China serves global markets. The upgraded Otis escalator factory underscores our confidence in the China market,” said Otis China President, Perry Zheng. “We are committed to continue meeting the needs of our customers in China, the world’s largest elevator market. Otis is proud to continue to lead in the era of Industry 4.0 with smart manufacturing and service breakthroughs.”
