The 2021 China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (“CIBS2021”), jointly organized by Shanghai Sinoexpo Informa Markets International Exhibition Co., Ltd., China Boat Industry & Trade Association, Shanghai Association of Shipbuilding Industry, and Shanghai Science and Technology Exchange Center (SSTEC), will return to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (No. 1099, Guozhan Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai) from April 1 to April 3, 2021, to overturn the conventional thinking of the industry and bring unprecedented innovation and reform to the industry from yacht to the water leisure lifestyle.

Although the Black Swan arrives one after another in 2020, CIBS has never stopped exploring or striving to transform the industry to find business opportunities for exhibitors and enrich the industry structure. This September, CIBS launched “Welcome To My Place · China Lure Tour”, a comprehensive offline activity around water entertainment and leisure sports tourism and small and micro exhibitions, which integrated boats and yachts, accessories, water attractions, industry celebrities, and tourism into the market and received much attention and support from the industry.
CIBS and its partner Shanghai International Lure Fishing Show, together with all the exhibitors, including Mercury, Suzuki, Xinghan, BOTE, Haibo, etc., launched this tour around Lure water sports in more than 50 fishing ponds in 20 cities across China, covering the ocean, rivers, lakes, streams, big game fishing, and other fishing scenes. CIBS has already held a successful event in Sanya, Hainan in September and is actively preparing for Shanghai.

The Internet-based convention and exhibition industry is accelerated in post-COVID-19, and a diversified technology mode of “short-form mobile videos, live streaming, cloud show, and distribution” is also found at the online exhibition. CIBS also successfully held an online exhibition in June this year, including the National Water Life Festival, cloud live streaming, B2B matchmaking, online browsing of boats and yachts and community activities, etc., which received much attention from the industry. New records were set and more than 100,000 people from 24 countries and regions were attracted; 5,435 viewers were present at the online forum simultaneously, equivalent to all the audience in 5 large venues!
During the online exhibition, buyers and sellers were invited to participate in B2B Matchmaking, and 81 online events were finally formed. The B2B Online Matchmaking Event has attracted 132 buyers from 24 countries and regions, mainly distributed in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, UAE, Australia, Russia, Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, New Zealand, and Italy.
