On December 30th, the Pingtang-Luodian Expressway in Guizhou Province was completed and opened to traffic, which also marked the official opening of the Pingtang Bridge, a colossal cable-supported viaduct.

With the highest concrete bridge tower in the world, The Pingtang Bridge spans 2,135 meters across a canyon and connects Luodian and Pingtang counties with a total length of 2135 meters and a total investment of about 1.5 billion yuan (about 215 million U.S. dollars).

After the Pingtang Bridge was opened to traffic, the travel time from Pingtang to Luodian was shortened from two and a half hours to one hour, and it will become a major traffic link connecting southern Guizhou.
