Smog in China: the rapid modernization and industrialization that in three decades has transformed China from a rural country into an economic giant, has not been entirely painless.

The downside (there would be many others to be honest) is the heavy air pollution that literally surrounds many Chinese cities and industrial centers. Over the years we collected a series of surreal images of Chinese smog, despite being dramatic, turn out to be really striking.
