Body Art in China – Five years ago, many Chinese had wondered what role has the Body art in contemporary society and particularly in their country.
If it had a cultural aspect related to art, the praise of beauty and sensuality of the body, or was it a mere excuse to promote sexuality and pornography. Nowadays it seems that the question has finally provided an answer much more detailed: Body Art is merely a promotional tool. The DIY is mainly related to the models posing, but in the exhibitions and events, Chinese companies are using Body Art as a promotional tool tied to luxury goods.
In recent years, Body Art is related to the sale of apartments, cars, and boats. From the small atelier of painters and artists, it had become a phenomenon that is shared in public spaces at international fairs or on the street. Girls posing covered by shorts, or in a bikini or using Nubra, are often surrounded by many people who photograph them, sometimes by hundreds of onlookers. The rich Chinese society has changed a lot, but at the same time what has not changed so much in Chinese society is the role of women. Whether in Asia, as well as in some contemporary Western Countries, women in many ways might still be looked at as a tool.
